I. Composition and Performance

DS-9580 is an unneutralized water-soluble polyester resin using BCS as a solvent. This resin exhibits good water solubility and excellent compatibility with water-based acrylic/amino resins. It provides excellent workability, resulting in a coating film with superior gloss, fullness, hardness, and chemical resistance. It also demonstrates excellent storage stability and good dilution properties with water, making it suitable for use as a water-soluble topcoat.

III. **Applications**

DS-9580 resin is mainly used in conjunction with (partially) methylated amino resins. After neutralization with a neutralizing agent, it is used to produce water-based clear varnishes or solid color paints for use as a topcoat on security doors, electric vehicles, and other engineering vehicles.

Anti-oil Agent (Digo 500) Appropriate Amount

Co-solvent (Ethanol/DPM/BCS=4/3/3) 10-15

Deionized Water 10-15

Instructions:

1. First, mix DS-9580 thoroughly with the water-based amino resin. Then, add dimethylethanolamine and stir to neutralize. Measure the pH value with pH paper; it should be between 7.0 and 7.5. Then add the other materials and stir thoroughly (the varnish viscosity should be approximately 30-40 seconds from a Forte 4 cup).

2. Dilute the above varnish with 20% deionized water to the application viscosity. Spray onto the primer or topcoat and bake at 150℃～180℃ for 20～30 minutes. The paint film will have excellent gloss and fullness.

3. After neutralizing DS-9580, dilute with water, not exceeding 50% of the resin mass. If this is exceeded, add BCS to adjust. Ideally, dilute with water/BCS = 1:1 for best results.
